We hold a whole school assembly on a Monday morning beginning at 8.50 am, to welcome in the school week. Assemblies are an important time of the week where we can come together as a community to celebrate the students’ learning and congratulate them on their achievements. Assemblies are run by our Year 6 student leaders who plan for each assembly. This opportunity provides the students with valuable opportunities to practice their organisational and public speaking skills. Assemblies begin with a class leading the school in prayer. Classes also share their learning or present art works. Assemblies also provide an opportunity for students who learn a musical instrument to perform in front of an audience. Each week awards are presented to students for achievements and outstanding examples of social emotional learning. Students’ birthdays are also recognised and celebrated.
Assemblies contribute to maintaining the sense of belonging to an exceptional community.
