At Our Holy Redeemer, we are committed to helping children navigate the online world safely and responsibly. Our approach to online safety (eSafety) focuses on reducing risks through education and support for students, staff, and families. With a strategically developed scope and sequence, we guide our teachers and students to develop the knowledge and confidence to make safe choices online and to seek help when needed. Students learn to explore and use basic digital tools to share content and collaborate respectfully, with the support of trusted adults. They are also taught to identify personal data, access their school accounts securely, and understand how some websites and apps collect and store personal information. Our online safety program includes regular incursions by Inform and Empower, an organisation dedicated to creating safer and more positive online experiences for every child. We also promote a balanced approach to digital life by encouraging both "screen time" and "green time"—time spent in nature to support students' wellbeing and development. Clear expectations for the use of digital technologies are established across the school, aligned to our OHR Expectations Matrix which ensures a safe and respectful digital environment for all.
