Restorative Practice
When extra support is needed whether for individuals or small groups we provide targeted assistance through our dedicated teachers and Student Wellbeing Team.
As a Restorative School, we actively implement Restorative Practices a whole-school approach to developing positive relationships and fostering responsibility for one’s actions. Through Restorative Practices, our students build the capacity to self-regulate behaviour, strengthen relationships, and contribute to improved learning outcomes.

Buddy Program
The Buddy Program is one of the many ways we help Foundation students settle into school. Additionally, the program promotes and develops leadership skills in our senior students. Buddies meet regularly throughout the year to complete cooperative tasks. These activities include literacy, numeracy games and craft.
The program has a very positive impact on both the Foundation and Year 6 students. Our senior students look forward to having a prep buddy and are therefore motivated to be the best role model for their prep friend.
The program encourages sharing, listening, turn taking, helping and supporting one another in the completion of tasks. The Buddy system also operates in Years 1/2 and Years 3/4 providing our students the opportunity to form strong bonds and lasting friendships across year levels.

School Wide Positive Behaviours
School Wide Positive Behaviours is a core focus at Our Holy Redeemer. Staff and students have worked together to develop a Behaviour Expectation Matrix, which clearly outlines expected behaviours in different areas of the school. Teachers use a positive incentive program to encourage appropriate behaviour and apply fair consequences to address inappropriate behaviour. Students observed being respectful are rewarded with a “Gotcha” card. Each week at assembly, one expectation from the matrix is shared with the whole school community, focusing on our three key values:
-
Respect for Self
-
Respect for Others
-
Respect for the Environment
Our House Leaders, then reward two lucky students from each House with a Tuckshop voucher via a lucky dip system with postboxes.
