In the Senior School at OHR, Years 5 and 6 students are challenged to think deeply, act responsibly, and lead with confidence. Building on strong academic foundations, learners engage in rich, purposeful learning experiences that strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and independence. With growing leadership opportunities and a supportive, faith-filled environment, students are thoughtfully prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for a successful transition to secondary school.

Student Leadership

The Student Leadership Program at Our Holy Redeemer is highly valued by students, parents and staff alike. Whilst all senior school students are encouraged and supported to develop leadership skills, the Year Six students have the opportunity to take on formalised leadership roles. The primary leadership roles are School and Vice Captains, House Leaders and Portfolio Leaders. Portfolio Leaders work with an allocated staff member to lead a team of Year Five students in an area of the school. Portfolio areas include Leadership, The Arts/Library, SRC/Social Justice, Wellbeing, Media and Sustainability. The students in Year Five spend time working with two different Portfolio Teams across the year to further develop their leadership capacity. As Student Leaders, the students develop decision making skills, confidence, responsibility, interpersonal skills, organisation and teamwork.

Across all levels of the school students represent their classroom in fortnightly meetings of the School Parliament, which is fundamentally a student representative council.
